New at EAPS 2026: fast-paced conversations, fresh perspectives, and career-shaping connections.

Building a career in paediatrics or neonatology often comes with big questions: How do I balance clinical work with research? What does a successful fellowship or clinician-scientist pathway really look like? And how do others manage ambition, uncertainty, family life, funding, publications, and professional growth?

The Speed-Dating Networking Session at EAPS 2026 is designed to help you explore these questions in a friendly, informal, and practical setting.

Created especially with young professionals in mind, this new session format offers a rare opportunity to sit down with senior experts and established leaders in the field for short, focused conversations on career development, research pathways, and training opportunities.

Session Basics

When? Friday, 25 September and Saturday, 26 September | 13:10–14:10
What? Small round-table discussions with 8–10 participants per table
Why? Mentorship, career guidance, training opportunities, and professional growth

What to Expect

Rather than a traditional lecture or formal networking event, this session uses a small-group, round-table format to make discussion easier, more personal, and more accessible. Participants will join tables hosted by experts, with each table bringing together up to 8-10 participants and focusing on a specific career-related topic. Each table will focus on a dedicated topic, allowing participants to choose conversations that match their interests, challenges, and career goals.

Conversations are designed to be brief, open, and interactive, giving you the chance to ask questions, hear honest insights, and exchange experiences with both faculty and peers. The format is intentionally relaxed and conversational. You do not need to prepare a presentation or have a perfectly defined career plan.

P.S. Lunch will be served during the session for all participants.
